A537 is a heat-treated, carbon manganese-silicon, steel plate grade. Typical applications include pressure vessels designed for moderate and lower temperature service requiring excellent notch toughness as well as API storage tanks. Class 1 material is produced in the Normalized condition class 2 is produced as Quench and Tempered.
